Just One More Thing Lieutenant ...

For those that follow The Filmographer's web log, you will notice that 1970's gumshoes, own a very special place in your humble narrator's ticker. Today is a sad day, we have lost a 5'5" giant - Mr Peter Falk. I have had spiritual ties to the man, including a friend's grandmother who attended high school with Peter and dated him in Westchester, New York back in the late 1940's.

Finest couch memories of my life were sitting next to my mother and grandmother and watching the detectives, and Columbo was one of dem stellar sleuths.

And every now and again , me and my genius artist boyfriend Luke (also a Columbo fan), find ourselves privy to this private eye.  Who would have ever thought that a show about homicide could feel so homey?

And naturally, when I think of the formidable Falk it inspires thoughts of John Cassavetes, who was his closest friend in real time. And another hero of  The Filmographer. And if you have not seen 1974's "Woman Under The Influence," you must make it a point on your bucket list. In fact I have reviewed it in an earlier post here.

And now there are some pretty darn good movies to see in Heaven.

Love you Mr F.
